$500 Car Road Trip Part 1 - Buying Day
Currently Ordered Upgrade List
Strut Bar - $145.77
Ram Air Intake - $148.95
Engine Torque Dampener Kit - $100.57
Tuon badges - $25.00
Grand Total: 420.29 U.S. dollars
After everything is in I should be sitting at 170 horsepower. The throttle should be quick and responsive, and it should corner and handle a lot better. As soon as I get everything in and installed I’ll write a nice review about everything.
Also for those who don’t know. Tuon is the KIA-Mobis branch responsible for tuning the kia souls. Getting these badges is quite hard since it has to be imported over.
Kia Soul Upgrades
Well I just bought the SSD Performance Strut Bar for about $144.00.
This should improve the handling by a great deal according to the reviews I’ve read on it.
My next buy is going to be a Torque Engine Dampener from the same people.
- reduces wheel hop
- GREATLY reduces shock loads on the drive train
- reduces wear on exhaust joints
- quickens throttle response
and finally where would I be without picking up an intake (short ram)
This is actually my car. It’s a 2012 Kia Soul of the Molten variety. It’s got a 2.0 Liter 16 valve engine that puts down 164 horsepower. Which is nice for a car thats centered on fuel economy, and style over going stupid fast.
